About Mariah Gowens
Mariah Gowens, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant and a graduate of the Duke Physician Assistant Program. Her clinical background includes several years in emergency department settings, as well as recent experience in rural urgent care medicine. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with minors in Psychology and Philanthropy & Nonprofit Studies from Auburn University. Her diverse training and experience have shaped a well-rounded and empathetic approach to patient care.
Driven by a deep love for stories and human connection, Mariah believes that understanding a person’s lived experiences, values, and future goals is essential to effective care. This passion led her to the field of mental health, where she strives to build meaningful, collaborative relationships with her patients. She supports individuals with generalized anxiety, PTSD, OCD, eating disorders, and individuals from all backgrounds with openness and respect.
In her practice, Mariah focuses on creating a warm, non-judgmental environment where patients feel safe to be their authentic selves. She takes a holistic, person-centered approach to care, combining evidence-based treatment with a deep respect for each patient’s unique perspective and personal expertise. Her goal is to ensure every patient feels seen, heard, and supported as they work together toward improved mental and emotional well-being.
