Do I need the ADHD Specialty Clinic?
Most people can receive complete ADHD care, both evaluation and ongoing ADHD treatment, from all of our Animo Sano Psychiatry providers, with no specialist referral needed. Your provider may loop in our ADHD Specialty Clinic when:
Your diagnosis remains unclear after an initial evaluation
Your symptoms are complicated by another condition, like anxiety, mood changes, or a history of trauma
Previous ADHD treatment hasn’t worked as expected
Your provider wants specialist input on your evaluation or treatment plan
Note: You don’t need to request this referral yourself, your provider will recommend it if it’s the right next step for your care.
How the Specialty Consultation Process Works
When your provider refers you to the ADHD Specialty Clinic, here’s what typically happens:
Your provider requests a specialist review
They send your case to our ADHD Specialty Clinic team for evaluation.
Your care returns to your provider
Once your diagnosis is clarified and your treatment plan is in place, your provider continues managing your ADHD care. Our ADHD specialists remain available whenever additional expertise is helpful.
Provider reviews the patient’s medical history
In some situations, the specialist can offer recommendations directly to your provider — no extra appointment needed for you.
A specialty visit is scheduled, if needed
If additional assessment would be helpful, you’ll be scheduled to meet with one of our ADHD specialists.
