Amy Dickinson
About Amy Dickinson
Amy Dickinson, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in psychiatric care with a clinical background in family medicine. She completed her Physician Assistant education at High Point University and went on to earn her Doctor of Medical Science degree with a focus in healthcare administration. Her experience managing acute and chronic conditions in primary care gave her a strong foundation in recognizing how closely physical and mental health are connected.
Her path to psychiatry grew directly from her work in primary care, where she witnessed how frequently anxiety, depression, trauma, and other psychiatric conditions went underrecognized and undertreated, and how significantly they impacted patients’ daily functioning and overall well-being. That experience shaped both her commitment to mental health care and her belief in reducing the stigma around seeking treatment.
In her practice, Amy takes a collaborative, individualized approach combining medication management with behavioral strategies, coping skills, and lifestyle modifications. She particularly enjoys working with patients who are new to mental health treatment or who have yet to find an approach that feels sustainable and provides care through telehealth, making support more accessible.
