Animo Sano Psychiatry team is growing. We’re excited to welcome our new MD, Hassan Naqvi! We had the pleasure to talk with Hassan about his life and experience and learn more about what motivated him to become a part of our team. Here’s Hassan’s inspiring story.
1. What inspired you to pursue a career in mental healthcare and what brought you to Animo Sano Psychiatry?
I was most inspired by my patients! In medical school, the doctor-patient relationship always felt special. But I found that working in the mental health field brought a unique importance to the healing process. The relationship I have with my patients continues to inspire me every day!
Dr. Mina Boazak, the Medical Director here, brought me to Animo Sano Psychiatry. I worked with Dr. Boazak for years and he is one of the most kind, caring, and talented psychiatrists I have ever met.
2. What motivates you?
Happiness! I try every day to savor the moments of happiness and bring happiness to those around me.
3. Tell us something about you that would surprise us?
Despite currently calling Manhattan, New York my home, I love spending time in the wilderness. Whether it is on a remote island with no cell phone reception or deep in the forest in below freezing temperatures, it’s my favorite way to unwind.
4. What words of wisdom do you live by?
“This too shall pass.”
