Animo Sano Psychiatry team is growing. We’re excited to welcome our new PA-C, Sydney Johnston! We had the pleasure to talk with Sydney about her life and experience and learn more about what motivated her to become a part of our team. Here’s Sydney’s inspiring story.
1. What inspired you to pursue a career in mental healthcare and what brought you to Animo Sano Psychiatry?
I truly believe that mental health is the foundation of health. I find myself incredibly curious about people’s lives, which I think is really important when working in the mental health space. I hope it allows me to connect with patients and work together to create a happier, healthier life.
I chose Animo Sano because I love the telemedicine aspect of providing mental health care. I think it offers a lot of flexibility which increases accessibility for patients and fights provider burnout.
2. What motivates you?
Honestly, being happy motivates me. I love the feeling of happiness and want to spread it to as many people as possible!
3. Tell us something about you that would surprise us?
In the past 2 years, I have driven across the country 4 separate times (definitely do not recommend).
4. What words of wisdom do you live by?
This, too, shall pass.
5. Share a recent “proud moment.”
Recently rescued my dog, Teddy, from Southern Oregon. She’s a 4-year-old, 15lb mixed breed with a BIG personality.
