About Zach Wood
ASP champions patient success and empowers clinicians to provide quality care through provider and patient resources, continuing education, and longer appointment times ensuring patients are able to feel heard while clinicians are able to develop appropriate treatment plans.
As a PA-C in mental health, my goal is to collaborate with patients to develop a treatment plan that empowers them with the tools and support needed to achieve long-term stability and improved quality of life.
I am a board-certified Physician Assistant with a background in family medicine and psychiatry. I earned a Master’s degree in physician assistant studies in 2021 from Gardner-Webb University, after which, I successfully completed the requirements for the CAQ-Psy credential. I have experience with a variety of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, behavioral concerns, and challenges related to life transitions and stress.
I have a strong focus on patient education and shared decision-making. My goal as a provider is to empower patients with the tools and support needed to achieve lasting stability and improved quality of life. I recognize that while patients may present with similar symptoms, each individual’s experiences and circumstances are unique. I strive to create a supportive environment where patients feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their care.
My treatment approach is rooted in the recognition that mental health is influenced by a wide range of factors. I have seen the importance of lifestyle interventions alongside evidence-based therapies and highly value their utilization. I take a conservative approach to medication use, viewing it as one component of a broader treatment plan rather than a sole solution. My ideal patient is open to exploring lifestyle contributors to their mental health and is motivated to build sustainable, long-term improvements in their mental health and overall well-being.
