About Michelle White

My passion for horses is actually what inspired me to pursue a career in mental healthcare. I have always loved their intuitive nature and how they serve as emotional mirrors into our own selves. Even as a young child, building a trusting relationship and genuine connection was just as thrilling as being able to go for a ride. As I grew up and participated in therapy myself and saw the experiences my loved ones had with receiving mental healthcare, I realized that pursuing that field would give me the opportunity to replicate exactly what I loved about being around horses with other people.

What drew me to Animo Sano Psychiatry was their exceptional dedication to patient care. Animo Sano Psychiatry stood out as an organization that deeply cares about and advocates for the people they’re serving. I also appreciated that Animo Sano seems to place equal emphasis on the well-being of their providers – from making sure they stay informed, to providing ample training, and creating a community (even across the country).

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in CBT, DBT, and Person-Centered Therapy for adults and adolescents. I earned my Master’s degree from Wake Forest University and have experience supporting individuals through a wide range of mental health challenges.

I believe that therapy is for everyone. All people deserve a safe space to be truly heard, understood, and supported. I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults facing a wide variety of issues, including depression, mood disorders, anxiety, personality disorders, ADD/ADHD, self-esteem issues, grief and/or loss, interpersonal relationship issues, and trauma. I strive to meet people where they are in their mental health journey and assist them in finding peace, joy, and meaning in their lives.

I base my clinical practice on providing a safe, welcoming environment where clients can be their true authentic selves as they explore their needs, emotions, triggers, and vulnerabilities. I use an eclectic, person-centered approach to therapy and apply techniques rooted in Adlerian therapy, CBT, DBT, and Gestalt therapy.

My role is to assist you in reaching whatever goals you may have for yourself by providing nonjudgmental support and helping to facilitate your journey, whatever form it may take.
