Corina Relyea
About Corina Relyea
I strive to support individuals, facing mental health challenges, to be empowered, understood, seen, heard and equipped with a wide range of coping skills. My approach to therapy is warm, inclusive, compassionate and strengths based. As a therapist, my ideal patient is someone who is seeking healing and growth, whether they are navigating through trauma, significant life changes, or emotional struggles. I work primarily with children, adolescents, and young adults, ranging from ages 4 to 80+, and my goal is to create a safe and inclusive space where they feel heard and supported. I believe that each individual has a unique inner wisdom, and my role is to guide them in trusting themselves and empowering them to overcome life’s challenges. I value the opportunity to work collaboratively with my clients, meeting them where they are and helping them unlock their potential for personal transformation. With seven years of experience in the field, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals through a wide variety of struggles, including trauma from sexual abuse, systemic oppression, grief, bullying, emotional and mental abuse, and family dynamic conflicts. I understand the deep impact that these experiences can have, and I approach therapy with empathy, patience, and a trauma-informed lens. By using a mix of therapeutic techniques, including mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and other evidence-based approaches, I aim to meet the diverse needs of my clients and tailor my interventions to their unique circumstances. My approach is strengths-based and empowering, focusing on the positive attributes that each individual brings to their healing process. I believe that therapy is not just about addressing problems but also about fostering resilience and self-discovery. By providing a warm and supportive environment, I aim to help clients build coping skills, strengthen their emotional regulation, and discover new ways to navigate life’s challenges. Ultimately, my goal is to help individuals feel confident in their ability to heal and thrive, both within therapy and in their everyday lives.
