Medication Management at Animo Sano Psychiatry

Effective medication management can significantly improve how you feel and function. Combined with therapy and other treatments, medications help reduce symptoms, stabilize moods, and enhance the quality of life. We work closely to ensure your medications are safe, effective, and aligned with the treatment plan. Regular check-ins and adjustments help manage side effects and ensure you experience the full benefits of your medication.
Our approach is built on collaboration and open communication. We don’t just prescribe medications and leave you on your own. Instead, we work closely with you to ensure your treatment is working effectively and evolving with your needs.

Medication management is a service where a psychiatric provider evaluates your symptoms and medical history, prescribes or adjusts medications, and monitors how you respond over time. It’s not just about writing a prescription — it includes ongoing follow-ups, dose adjustments, side effect checks, and ensuring the medication fits with other aspects of your treatment plan.

We use medication management to treat a variety of mental health conditions, including mood disorders (like depression and bipolar), anxiety disorders, ADHD, OCD, trauma / PTSD, and sleep disorders. Our approach is tailored so that medications support, rather than replace, other therapies and interventions.

During your first appointment, your provider will do a comprehensive evaluation — reviewing your symptoms, medical history, and any previous medication trials. You’ll discuss goals, possible medications, potential benefits and side effects, and build a plan together. This foundational visit sets the stage for ongoing care and medication optimization.

In most states, we prescribe both stimulant and non-stimulant options for ADHD. In Georgia and Arkansas we only prescribe non-stimulant medications due to state regulations.
