Animo Sano Psychiatry team is growing. We’re excited to welcome our new Administrative Assistant, Alexis Sepillo! We had the pleasure to talk with Alexis about her life and experience and learn more about what motivated her to become a part of our team. Here’s Alexis’s inspiring story.
1. What inspired you to pursue a career in mental healthcare and What brought you to Animo Sano Psychiatry?
I’ve been in the healthcare industry for a few years now and it still gives me fulfillment to know that I am not just doing my job, but I am also at a position where I can help others. I know this heart to help should not just go to people who need medical care physically, but also extend to those who need assistance to something which affects our whole being the most, our mental health. And with Animo Sano Psychiatry, I know I can do just that.
2. What motivates you?
What motivates me is my goal to become a good provider for my family while also building a stable future for myself.
3. Tell us something about you that would surprise us?
I may appear cheerful and always friendly but I am actually an ambivert which is more on the introverted side. I like socializing and interacting with people, but on most days, I just prefer being alone, just staying at home and having my quiet time.
4. What words of wisdom do you live by?
Always move with a genuine heart and an open mind, all kindness you gave the universe will always have a way of going back to you.
5. Share a recent “proud moment.”
I think my recent proud moment was when my supervisor recognized my opinions and suggestions as a great contribution as to why our team’s performance has improved significantly.
6. Share any volunteer or charity efforts you’re involved in.
I don’t have any charity where I am continuously directly involved with but I do contribute to charities or groups that help stray animals from time to time and I also do blood donations at least twice a year, because when you give blood, you save lives.
